Dear colleagues,

In recent years, the world has experienced rapid and unprecedented change. Climate change, food insecurity, and economic upheaval are here to stay, posing grave challenges for the future. The need of the hour now are strong leadership and immediate solutions.

There is no industry better placed than the chemical industry to enable a more sustainable tomorrow. Against this backdrop, I am pleased to announce that the 16th Annual GPCA Forum will take place on 6-8 December 2022, at the Hilton Riyadh Hotel & Residences, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Home to the largest and fastest growing chemical and petrochemical industry in the Arabian Gulf, Saudi Arabia is an important regional powerhouse and a global market leader, accounting for over two-thirds of regional chemical output and supplying raw materials and finished products to virtually every corner of the globe. Today, as part of Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia is on the cusp of an important transformation to become a leader in technology, innovation, the clean energy transition, and carbon neutrality.

This important milestone edition will be hosted in Saudi Arabia for the first time and is expected to attract over 2,500 attendees from 600 companies and 100 countries. The forum will address the theme ‘Chemistry in Action, Shaping a Sustainable Future.’

Strategic dialogues at the event will spotlight some of the most pressing issues impacting the chemical sector today. This edition will be a one-of-a-kind event focusing on the chemical industry’s role, plans, and strategies to design more sustainable value chains, offering an outlook on the roadblocks ahead and how to overcome them as well as ways in which the industry is contributing toward net-zero.

This year’s must-attend conference agenda will feature:

  • Ministerial sessions
  • Keynote sessions
  • Leadership dialogues
  • The 4th edition of GPCA Legacy Awards Ceremony
  • The inaugural edition of the GPCA Youth Forum
  • The GPCA Sustainability District

Building on its reputation as the most renowned chemical industry gathering in the Arabian Gulf, the forum will attract some of the world’s topmost industry experts, thought leaders, innovators, and the region’s talented youth.

I look forward to welcoming you to Riyadh for the GPCA’s flagship event this December and I hope you enjoy this edition designed to provide you with the very best knowledge exchange, networking and cultural experience.

Yours sincerely,

Dr. Abdulwahab Al-Sadoun

Secretary General
