Saleh Al-Shabnan is a graduate in Industrial Management from University of Petroleum & Minerals (UPM), Dhahran, Saudi Arabia in 1982. He was trained at Aramco Services Company in Houston, Texas before joining (SABIC). Throughout his 31 years’ career with SABIC, he has supervised, managed and led various executive positions and mega projects and assignments in different fields including management, supply chain, business development and sales & marketing.

In addition to his direct responsibilities at (SABIC), Saleh served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Sabic Terminal Services Co. (Sabtank), and Jubail Chemical Storage & Services Co. (JCSSC). He was also a member of the Board of Directors of a number of SABIC’s affiliates and associated organizations including Petrokemya, Sadaf and National Chemical Carrier Company (NCC). He also served as the Vice Chairman of the Gulf Petrochemical & Chemicals Association (GPCA)’s Supply Chain Committee till June 2016 and was a member of Europe’s LogiChem advisory board in Brussels. Saleh is a member of GPCA and the head of its Supply Chain Excellence Award.

IN 2015, Saleh moved to the mining and cement industry as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of City Cement Company and a member of the its Board of Directors till May, 2019. During his association with the cement industry, Saleh was the Vice President of the National Committee for Cement Companies.

In January 2020, he was appointed by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture to lead the formation and launch of a 2 billion SAR, 100% government owned company (National Agricultural Services Company) as the company’s CEO. The new company comes as part of the Ministry’s transformation initiative aimed at improving the quality of services offered to the agricultural sector, rationalize costs, utilize the ministry’s assets and contribute to the Kingdom’s security of food supply at a financially and environmentally sustainable way.

In MAY 2021, Saleh was appointed to lead similar initiative at the Ministry of Industry & Mineral Resources as the CEO of the Saudi Mining Services Company, a 100% government company operating under the umbrella of the Ministry. The new company is the Ministry’s arm to provide all services to the Saudi mining industry including licensing, inspection, compliance and investment attraction.

After the successful establishment and launch of the Saudi Mining Services Company, Saleh left to become Food Caravan Industrial Company’s CEO in July 2022. Food Caravan is a business and projects development company that is active in different fields with more focus on animal feed and protein business with extensive networks and contacts in KSA, GCC and the wider Middle East/North Africa (MENA) private and public sectors as well as attracting sponsors and investors and arranging funding for promising projects.

On the volunteering initiatives side, Saleh is the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the “Supply Chain & Procurement Society” – a none profit organization of 230 + SC & Procurement professional volunteers. He is also the Vice Chairman of the Industrial Exporters’ Society.
