Jean Sentenac was named Axens President and Chief Executive Officer in 2002. Since then he has guided the development of Axens as leading supplier to clients in the hydrocarbon processing industries providing a complete range of solutions for the conversion of oil and biomass to cleaner fuels, for the production and purification of major petrochemical intermediates as well as for gas treatment and conversion options. Axens helps its clients build a sustainable future with inventive and performing solutions. The offer includes technologies, equipment, heaters, modular units, catalysts, adsorbents and associated services.
Among Axens’ and Jean Sentenac’s top priorities are ensuring client trust and satisfaction, advancing employee development and technical expertise while continuing to uphold safety in operations and respect for the environment.
Prior to this, Jean Sentenac was Deputy CEO at Axens and Deputy Executive Director of IFP’s Industrial Division.
He began his career in engineering and construction with Air Liquide in Spain and Italy followed by ten years of experience in the chemical industry with Rhone-Poulenc and Rhodia in the management of business units in the fields of Life Science and Aroma Organic Chemicals.
Jean Sentenac graduated from “France’s Ecole Polytechnique” and holds a post-graduate engineering degree from the “IFP School”. He is a « Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite » and was awarded the « Prix Chaptal des Arts Chimiques 2022 ».
