Hur Sung Woo

Mr. Hur is an Executive Vice President of LG Chem’s Petrochemicals Company.  He is the head of the global business and project development.  He joined the company in May 2020 from BP.  His career spans more than 29 years and includes joint venture company CEO, country president & CEO , marketing, sales & logistics, strategy & planning, business & project development, project management, engineering, and plant operations.  He started his career in Amoco Chemical Company, as a mechanical engineer at the Joliet Chemical Plant in US in 1991.  Since then, he has worked in a number of Asian countries namely, Indonesia, Malaysia, S. Korea, Singapore, and China.

Mr. Hur earned a bachelor of science degree in Aerospace Engineering and masters of science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago IL. US.  He resides with his wife in Seoul and has two daughters living in Los Angeles, California.  He is an avid runner and enjoys traveling.
